Bio: Born in 1981 and raised in Kingsport, Tennessee. Attended Andrew Johnson, Robinson, and finally Dobyns-Bennett before moving off to Chattanooga and Knoxville for College before residing in the Tri-Cities and attending ETSU. While in College I concentrated on Journalism, Philosophy, History, and Psychology.

Lifelong Proponent of Sports as a Key for Child Growth/Recreation.

Lifelong Fan of Local High Schools as well as Memphis, and all Oakland Teams.

Who/What is ModelCitySports?

ModelCitySports was created during Christmas of 2008. It has been a long and bumpy road over the past two years to get where we are attoday.
We have created a site that maintains a focus on the youth of the Tri-Cities while looking not to expand but deepen its coverage of the region.
Our Statement and Goal as a Company is to become the first and foremost arena of Youth sports in the area.
We have grown into a website that maintains a hit rate of over 350,000 per month (Over 800,000 during Football Months). While Peaking on Thursdays and Fridays
Our area of readers runs from the Tri-Cities to Asheville to Memphis. However, 78% of our readers are from the Knoxville area to SW Virginia.

Bill Harwood

Owner, Reporter, Accounting Executive

Bio: Born and Raised in Kingsport, TN. Went to John Sevier and Graduated from Dobyns-Bennett in 1972. Worked at Skelton's Audio before joining Eastman and working there until 2008. Married to Jane Harwood since 1973, in which they have raised 3 children: Heather, Holly, and Joshua.

Coach and Baseball Historian. Coached in City Recreation from the early 80's until the mid 00's, in Basketball, Baseball, and Soccer.

Worked at Eastman until Retiring in 2008. Since has helped MCS grow into what it has become.
